Bette Ryle Ireland
November 14, 1932 - June 29, 2022

Bette Ireland, 89, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
The lifelong resident of Savannah was a graduate of Savannah High School and attended the University of Georgia. She was the only child of the late Wilbur Clay and Peggy Collins Bazemore.
Bette was a founding member of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church where she served on the building committee. Bette was an avid golfer and in her younger years she enjoyed playing the game of Bridge. Bette was a real estate agent with more than 30 years of service, primarily serving the Landings at Skidaway Island area.
Surviving is her husband of 36 years, Curtis P. Ireland; two children, Kathy Swift Hall (Craig) and Tommy Ryle, Jr. (Lynn); four grandchildren, Lauren Ryle Coleman (Greg), Emily Lane Ryle, Maggie Swift, and Katie Swift; and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Danielle, DeShay, Ruth, and their caring staff for the exceptional care given to their mother during her illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Jim Giddens officiating. A private burial will take place in Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery at a later date.

Curtis and Bette were our neighbors on Woodard Lane for almost 20 years. They watched our children grow up and were just lovely neighbors. We loved them and missed them when they moved. Our prayers are with you and we send our condolences.
